Currency UK approached Douglass Digital initially for urgent assistance with their Silverstripe CMS platform. We did what we could to help on their existing platform whilst working closely with the Currency UK marketing team on optimising their Google Adwords campaigns and creating landing pages built within WordPress.
Eventually it got to a stage where the main Currency UK website needed to be replaced. The existing site was very rigid, difficult to manage with ease, it was also dated and the branding assets used within the existing site were no longer fit for purpose.
We got straight to work on this project with an in-depth workshop phase enabling us to establish all of the target audience groups as well as understanding the divide between personal and business clients. The added complexity here was the number of different products and service offerings. We needed to establish a way of making this as easy as possible for users to understand. Another big part of this project was having the ability within the WordPress CMS to create relatable content amongst use cases, case studies, services and products.
We also wrote a script to automatically migrate thousands of historical news articles from the old Silverstripe website to the new site.
We are particularly proud of the Currency UK Resource Hub which fetches content from lots of different post types and displays them in once place. This was developed using the WordPress Rest API and Vue.js.
