Overview

Henham and Ugley are a Primary and Nursery School on the Essex and Hertfordshire border who had a very old and outdated website in need of being modernised. The old website was extremely restrictive from an administration perspective and always need outside help to apply any updates. Henham primary school needed to find a new website to meet a number of key aims and objectives including:

  • A new modern website design
  • Easy to administer
  • Future proof solution
  • A design that showed off all the great areas of work the school do

Douglass Digital was recommended by another client for this website project and we were really excited to take this on, it was our first school website that Douglass Digital designed and built and we are very pleased with the result and the feedback its had so far.

Together we’ve created a new website for our school which fulfils all our objectives; it’s fresh, welcoming, easy to navigate and update and, importantly, works as well on a mobile as it does on a desktop. Our Solution

As with all website projects at Douglass Digital we started with an in-depth look at the current issues, what the new website needed to do to be a great school website design, how successes would be measured and how different audiences would be using the new website, in this case, it was mainly teachers, parents and potential parents looking at new schools in the area.

Douglass Digital put several design mockups together using InVision, these included the new school homepage, subpage, menu, school events, classes page and mobile view.

These were approved and the new site was put together, as part of the project Douglass Digital also put a library of training videos together to help staff manage the site moving forward.

It was a great project to be involved with, the school had many professional photos taken so we also had a brilliant bank of assets to choose from.
